The Somers Library, in bucolic Northern Westchester County, is set in a park. The Director is responsible for the day to day and long range plans of the Library. Supervise professional and clerical staff, ensure that library purchases are within collection guidelines and budget. Building is in good repair. Work with the Town Board, Supervisor and Finance Department to meet the needs of the community with an appropriate budget. The library received matching grant funding to create a Teen Space, which the Director will oversee. We are part of the Westchester Library System which manages our computers, software, shared catalog, ILL, and staff development and email system. Applicants must meet the requirements of the Westchester Civil Service, either as Provisional or Transfer/Reinstatement.
