Please join METRO for our 2025 Annual Meeting on Tuesday, June 17th at the Center For Brooklyn History.

We’re thrilled to feature a keynote from Tega Brain, an Australian-born artist and environmental engineer who examines issues of ecology, data, automation, and infrastructure. Her talk, titled “Eccentric Interfaces, Inefficient Archives,” will ask, “What happens when ecological thinking, information science, and critical approaches to technology are combined?” Tega will share a recent body of work exploring her attempts to do just this, creating experimental collections and archives while redesigning the digital interfaces and platforms that make them accessible.
You’ll also hear from METRO’s Executive Director Nate Hill, staff, and collaborators about work happening across METRO’s programs and services. Plus, staff from the Center For Brooklyn History will share info about current exhibits and programs at CBH, and Brooklyn Public Library’s Chief Librarian Nick Higgins will provide opening remarks.
The meeting will take place from 9:30am-12:00pm in the Great Hall at the Center For Brooklyn History at 128 Pierrepont St, Brooklyn, NY 11201. Coffee and snacks will be provided before the program. Afterwards, join us for a social hour to connect with other library, archive, and museum workers from our more than 200 member organizations. Space is limited. Please register ahead of time to reserve your spot.
All registrants will receive a METRO tote bag and other goodies as we debut our new brand identity. We’ll also have a space for you to share handouts from your organization. Do you have flyers, stickers, zines, or programs related to your work? We’d love for you to bring them to share with fellow attendees.
Check-in begins at 9:00am, and you can find the full agenda below. See you there!
