Circulation Coordinator, Trumbull Library (Trumbull, CT)
Due to a promotion, the Trumbull Library is seeking an organized, motivated, and approachable Circulation Coordinator to join our team. Under the direction of the Library Director, this position is responsible for managing circulation operations at both library branches, including the supervision of a large team of part-time employees. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing outstanding customer service, possess exceptional communication and problem-solving skills, and demonstrate proven success in effectively leading and inspiring staff.

The Circulation Coordinator oversees the daily operations of the Circulation Department at the Trumbull Library, ensuring smooth workflows and a positive patron experience. This position supervises circulation staff, manages scheduling, resolves customer account issues, and contributes to collection development and maintenance.
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
● Oversees the daily circulation functions for the Trumbull Library
● Supervises the Administrative Support II, Circulation/Technical Services Assistants, and Pages in the operation of the circulation department, including hiring, training, and developing work-flow procedures
● Serves as primary contact for circulation issues and customer account problems.
● Prepares daily and weekly schedules for all staff
● Responsible for stack management and collection development
● Performs other duties as required
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Works under the general direction of the Library System Director or his/her designee.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
Supervises Administrative Support II, Circulation/Technical Services Assistants, Pages, and Volunteers
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
● Excellent customer service skills and the ability to interact professionally with the public, town officials, and library staff
● Extensive knowledge of an automated circulation system, preferably SirsiDynix Horizon
● Understands current library objectives, principles and procedures
● Ability to work independently
● Demonstrates initiative, good judgement, accuracy and flexibility
● Strong computer skills, including Excel
● Effective oral and written communication skills
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
● MLS from an ALA Library School required
● Three (3) years of professional librarian experience in a position requiring an MLS required
● Work experience in a public library is required
● Experience working in a circulation department is preferred
