This practical workshop will dig into the functionality of VOSviewer, a freely available software that provides a variety of ways for visualizing bibliometric data. We’ll begin with some live demos of how the software works before attendees have an opportunity to practice with a sample dataset and step-by-step instructions. The majority of this workshop will be spent working with the software itself and discussing various data visualization possibilities, and so attendees are encouraged to download and install it on their own computer in advance of the workshop from vosviewer.com/download.
After this workshop, attendees can expect to:
- Feel comfortable with the basic functionality of VOSviewer
- Explore various types of data visualizations that can be created with bibliographic data
- Articulate the advantages of using data visualization for bibliometric analysis
This workshop is a practical session offered in followup to Introduction To VOSviewer: Exploring A Free Tool For Visualization Of Bibliometric Data. Registrants may wish to watch a recording of that session before attending our hands-on workshop.
