Barchives 35: Ride Or Dive: NY Transit Museum Archives At Montero Bar & Grill

In-Person

If you’ve lived in Brooklyn long enough, you’ve probably been to Montero Bar and Grill for karaoke. It’s ok if your memory is a little hazy. Like any longtime NYC establishment, it’s the kind of place where you’re either already a regular or, when you enter you say: Oh yeah…I’ve been here before!

If you’ve lived in Brooklyn a week, you’ve certainly taken some form of public transportation by now. Understanding the city’s transit systems will undoubtedly help you fit in with your new neighbors. Here’s your first fun fact for free: the New York Transit Museum, just a few blocks away from Montero, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.

Join us on August 11th for Barchives 35. We’ll learn about both the bar’s 87-year history and the 100+ years of subway history documented in the Transit Museum Archives.

This event is co-sponsored by the Metropolitan New York Library Council.
