The Center for Modern Psychoanalytic Studies (CMPS) is seeking a part-time librarian to serve a small but dynamic community of analysts-in-training. Located in the heart of Greenwich Village, CMPS serves a dedicated teaching and learning community of ~200. This part-time role is key to supporting the work of students and faculty in a dynamic and stimulating environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide reference assistance to students, faculty, and other members of the CMPS community
- Coordinate and review class syllabi and prepare class readings; make syllabi and readings available through the Blackbaud learning management system or Dropbox, as appropriate
- Manage the library collection using the LibraryWorld online system; order and process library resources and track expenditures
- Administer access to the Psychoanalytic Electronic Publishing (PEP) database
- Provide interlibrary loan service using OCLC WorldShare
Qualifications
- MLS or equivalent from an ALA-accredited library school
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort with a PC environment
- Newly degreed candidates will be considered
Schedule
20 hours per week:
- Monday -Thursday: 3 – 8 pm
Compensation
- $35,000 – $40,000, based on experience
