Open Education Librarian for Assessment (12-15 hours/week)
One-year Non-teaching Adjunct position (with possibility to renew)
The A. Philip Randolph Memorial Library at the Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) seeks an analytical and motivated professional for the position of part-time Open Education (OE) Librarian to join the Library’s open knowledge team. Reporting to the Open Knowledge Librarian, the OE Librarian for Assessment will help assess the Library’s established open education program (including OER, open pedagogy, and ZTC courses) and help develop a vision for the next 10 years.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Develop surveys for students, staff, and faculty
- Conduct focus groups or similar activities for both assessment and planning
- Apply backcasting to assist in developing future program plan
- Build on existing and develop new assessment activities
- Create data visualizations
- Write blog posts
- Collaborate with BMCC open knowledge team members on program projects and activities
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate degree in Library Science, or current enrollment in a Library Science program with at least 12 credits completed
- 1-2 years experience in a postsecondary library setting or related environment
- Experience designing, implementing, and analyzing assessments
- Experience with qualitative and quantitative research methods
- Excellent written and oral communication and collaboration skills
- Self-directed
- Demonstrated commitment to participating in and building an anti-racist, inclusive, equitable and diverse campus community.
- Availability to work on campus
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with and commitment to open knowledge principles and practices
- Experience with a variety of assessment and reporting tools
- Strong service orientation
- WordPress experience
Schedule is flexible and may include both on-campus (at least two days per week) and remote work.
Compensation: Up to 15 hours per week at a CUNY Non-teaching Adjunct hourly rate ($51-$58/hour) commensurate with education and experience
