News> “Career Transition” Special Interest Group Forms

Librarians, information professionals, and archivists seeking career development advice and networking opportunities are invited to join METRO’s newest Special Interest Group (SIG) on “Career Transition.”

The new SIG will explore traditional job-hunting topics (e.g., developing strong resumes, cover letters, and interviewing skills) alongside issues such as social networking as a path toward career transitions, making the transition across library type, and refreshers in core professional functions. Susan Gormley (former Manager, Business Intelligence Center of The McGraw-Hill Companies, Inc.) is the SIG’s initial convener.

The SIG’s first meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 10 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at METRO (57 East 11th Street, 4th Floor). We hope to see you there!
