NLS is seeking a high-performing, energetic, flexible, organized individual to work 19 hours a week in our Youth Services Office.
Assist in the administration of the Youth Services office. Perform administrative and office support activities such as answering phone calls and emails, as well as creating Word documents, Excel spreadsheets and flyers. Assist with website content, social media, and creating/editing department publications. Maintain online calendars and organize all aspects of youth services meetings. Assist with the planning and coordination of large events. Organize and coordinate large mailings and distributions. Respond to questions and requests for assistance from member librarians and staff. Coordinate the circulation of kits and other materials to member libraries.
Excellent customer service, interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills. Efficient, productive, attentive to detail and accurate. First-rate planning, organizational, time-management and problem-solving skills. Computer literate; proficient in MS Office Suite, Publisher, and Google products. Knowledge of WordPress a plus. Knowledge about NLS member libraries and/or literature for children and teens a plus. Experience in an office environment and/or a public library. Able to lift books and boxes weighing up to 25 pounds.
Starting at $18.00 - $20.00 per hour depending on relevant experience and abilities

This is a non-benefited part-time position that is covered by a collective bargaining agreement. NLS is not subject to Civil Service. No nights or weekends; flexible scheduling possible.
