Reference Archivist - The Winthrop Group, Inc.

The Winthrop Group’s Information & Archival Services Division has an immediate opening for a full-time Reference Archivist to help enhance the value of the Corporate Archives for one of our clients in Poughkeepsie, NY. As part of the Winthrop team, the Archivist will provide reference and research assistance, image rights clearance, and digitization, metadata, and cataloging services.


The Reference Archivist will • Evaluate and respond to reference questions and provide support for research requests • Coordinate image clearance reviews to ensure materials do not contain sensitive or confidential information and submit images to Intellectual Property legal team • Provide “scan-on-demand” copies for ingest and cataloging into CMS • Assist social media team with requests for physical and digital resources


Qualifications • MLS/MLIS or MA with experience providing reference and research services • Minimum of two to three years work in archival setting • Excellent written and verbal communications skills • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with colleagues and clients

Preferred Qualifications • Experience working in a corporate archives setting • Detail-oriented and proficient in finding practical solutions • Familiarity with digitization requirements and metadata descriptions
