Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a part-time MARC Cataloging/Database Support for The Rutgers University Libraries (RUL). This position provides MARC cataloging and assists with quality assurance of the Libraries’ database.

Among the key duties of this position are the following: • Provides MARC cataloging for monographs. • Participates in database management and quality control.


Minimum: Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

• Requires up to two years relevant experience in an administrative/library function. Preferred: One year experience providing MARC cataloging in an academic research library. Required: Experience using an integrated library system or library services platform Preferred qualifications Experience using the OCLC Connexion Client Experience using Alma Familiarity with Library of Congress Subject Headings and Classification Familiarity with MARC21 bibliographic formats and RDA guidelines. Good oral and written communication skills Ability to work independently and apply appropriate judgement Ability to take direction and function as a member of a team


20 hours week $15-27/per hour, depending on qualifications
