Columbia University Libraries seek a motivated, collaborative and creative Evening & Weekend Access Supervisor for the Science, Engineering & Social Science Libraries Division.
Reporting to the Head, Operations, the incumbent supervises access services activities on nights and weekends across the division’s seven library locations (Business & Economics Library, Geology Library, Journalism Library, Lehman Social Sciences Library, Mathematics Library, Science & Engineering Library, and Social Work Library), provides backup for evening/weekend support staff, directs student assistants, and oversees opening and closing of library spaces. Additional responsibilities include coordination and planning of request fulfillment workflows, support for division reserves processing, and taking a lead role in the division’s data collection efforts around access services activities. The Evening & Weekend Access Supervisor position is a great opportunity for a service oriented person who is interested in becoming part of a highly collaborative supervisory team focused on providing excellent library services and spaces to Columbia’s diverse communities of users. The incumbent will also be expected to perform other duties as assigned.
Schedule: Thursday: 2pm to 10pm Friday: 1pm to 9pm Saturday: 10am to 6pm Sunday: 2pm to 10pm Monday: 2pm to 10pm Schedule varies during the summer and at other times as operational demands require.
