In concert with our colleagues, METRO has released a pair of books documenting the real-world projects in our community and around the world.
The Global Librarian, published by METRO and ACRL/NY in 2013, looks in-depth at librarians’ work, and the increasingly global environment of diverse populations with a variety of needs. Innovative librarians have embraced the challenge of ”going global,” and they have identified and acquired the necessary skills to successfully navigate through this expanding environment.
Published in 2010, Digitization in the Real World highlights 34 cases of digital collection building in libraries, archives, museums, and cultural heritage institutions throughout North America. This book is written by practitioners for practitioners focusing on lessons learned from small to medium-sized digitization projects.
METRO diligently covers news related to libraries, archives, and the information community. Each month, we profile a myMETRO member and a METRO member institution, and we feature career advice from Ellen Mehling in our Asked&Answered column.
