The Special Project Librarian is a full-time contract position reporting to the Associate Librarian, Technology Initiatives. The candidate’s primary role will be to verify and maintain records for Synapse <https://synapse.mskcc.org>, MSK’s institutional repository of publications. Responsibilities include:
The candidate will also be responsible for covering an opening or closing shift at the reference desk, as well as other shifts as needed. This includes answering phones, checking materials in/out, helping clients locate print and digital collections, monitoring physical spaces, and maintaining printers, photocopiers and other library equipment.
Recent MLS graduates are encouraged to apply. The position pays an hourly rate with limited benefits and is renewable annually. Hours are Monday thru Friday, 9am-5pm or 8am-4pm (depending on shift coverage).
Preferred: Experience working with institutional repositories, abstracting and indexing databases (PubMed, Scopus, ISI Web of Science, etc) and integrated library systems (Innovative Millennium)
