The Diamond Law Library at Columbia University seeks a part-time Bibliographic Assistant IV. Primarily responsible for all aspects of binding preparation and processing for serials, monographs and fragile items in need of preservation. Additional responsibility for preparing materials for off-site storage.
Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 9AM-2PM
All aspects of binding preparation and processing for serials, monographs and fragile items in need of preservation. This includes selecting materials for binding, updating Pegasus entries, using vendor software programs, and performing quality control of bound materials. Also performs catalog maintenance to reflect newly bound material.
Prepare library materials for shipment to offsite storage: Review and edit bibliographic information in catalog record in a variety of languages. Create item records as necessary. Evaluate physical condition of materials, determines whether materials need shrink-wrapping or preservation cases before storage.
Performs other duties as assigned.
$20.03/hour ($19.53/hour for new hires)
