Stepping Stones to Leadership:
Interpersonal, Business & Professional Challenges
Monday, November 18, 2013, 4:00 to 7:00 pm
METRO, 57 East 11th Street, 4th floor
The New York City archives and library communities contain many professionals with rich volunteer experience on organization boards. At this event we’ve tapped a number of them to offer insights and practical advice on challenges faced by current board members. Our program includes a keynote speaker on lessons learned; a panel addressing real challenges facing boards and a forum with experienced board members discussing and exchanging ideas on leadership and management issues from the perspective of executive boards.
In her keynote address, Pam Rollo, former SLA President, shares the many lessons she has learned during her career as a local and national association board member.
In a panel event, Ma'lis Wendt, representing ALA, discusses interpersonal and team dynamics in board settings
Mitch Brodsky, representing ART, addresses effectively maintaining your organizations numbers.
Elizabeth Lane of ARLIS/NY presents software to manage member data and communication.
These presentations were followed by an open forum and Q & A addressed to Caroline Fuchs, ACRL/NY, and Janice E. Henderson, LLAGNY, joining the panel of Ma'lis Wendt, Mitch Brodsky, and Elizabeth Lane.
