Founded in 1996, Rhizome commissions, presents, and preserves born-digital art. Since 2014, the focus of its digital preservation program has been the creation of free, open-source tools to preserve legacy materials and the dynamic web.
Join the Rhizome team for an introduction to and demo of Webrecorder, a platform for dynamic web archiving, recently supported by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation; Emulation as a Service, a cloud-based emulation framework, a partnership with University of Freiburg, Germany; and oldweb.today, a new tool connecting legacy browsers to various web archives.
This event will be held at NEW Inc. A Rhizome staff member will meet attendees outside of the entrance.
This event is co-hosted by the ARLIS/NA New York Chapter and METRO.
