Please join the Web Archiving Special Interest Group (SIG) for our first meeting at METRO on Tuesday, April 7th, from 3:00 pm - 4:30pm.
The Web Archiving SIG is an inclusive group designed to facilitate growth in the communities forming around initiatives to preserve websites and other online resources. We seek to support professionals in libraries, archives and museums engaged in web archiving, as well as students and others new to the field. With meetings and presentations held throughout the year we will provide a venue for professional development and a forum for open discussion of common interest.
Our agenda for Tuesday, April 7th, includes a presentation from Karl-Rainer Blumenthal, National Digital Stewardship Resident (NDSR) at the New York Art Resources Consortium (NYARC), on the topic of “what is web archiving?” We will additionally discuss individual involvement with web archiving and levels of experience among our SIG members, focus on developing sections of the group’s LibGuide, and brainstorm topics for upcoming presentations and projects to be undertaken by the SIG.
All METRO's special interest group meetings are free of charge for METRO members and non-members alike. Walk-ins are welcome.
