Connie Wu is a tenured faculty member and Engineering and Patent Information Librarian at the Rutgers University. Before her librarianship career, Connie was a patent examiner working at the Patent Office of China. Her major research is on engineering and patent information dissemination and analysis. She has published 35 articles, presented more than 90 talks internationally and received numerous awards and research grants.

Full Description

The aim of this workshop is to describe several free patent databases and how to search them in order to provide technical information to library users.

Who should attend:
Science and medical librarians who do not specialize in patent searching will benefit from this session.


By the end of this program, participants will:

  • Be aware of the free patent databases on the web and how to search them
