Marcia Lei Zeng is Professor of Library and Information Science at Kent State University. She holds a Ph.D. from the School of Information Sciences at University of Pittsburgh. She has been invited to give lectures on the topics of knowledge organization systems, metadata, and digital libraries in various countries. Her professional services include chair of the IFLA Classification and Indexing Section, chair of IFLA Functional Requirements for Subject Authority Records (FRSAR) Working Group, and the Executive Board member of the International Society for Knowledge Organization (ISKO). She currently serves as a member of the Dublin Core Metadata Initiative (DCMI) Advisory Board and Director-at-large of the American Society for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T).
