Dr. Kwong-Bor Ng is an associate professor at the Graduate School of Library and Information Studies of Queens College, where he teaches technologies courses like database construction, XML, and Web Programming. He has published numerous refereed research papers in information science. In the past few years, he has authored and co-edited 3 books, about using XML in Libraries, Collaborative technologies, and Digitization.

This is a two-day workshop.  By registering on this page, you also register to attend the second part on Monday, Novermber 21st from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
 
JavaScript is the programming language of the Web. The overwhelming majority of modern websites use JavaScript, and all modern web browsers include JavaScript interpreters; making JavaScript the most ubiquitous programming language in the world. JavaScript is the technology that all Web developers must learn, and this workshop will help you master JavaScript with DOM (Document Object Model). DOM is an application interface for manipulating web pages and is an extremely important part of everyday JavaScript coding.
 
Who should attend:
Web designers, web programmers, system librarians, and people who are interested in mastering the art and science of JavaScript and DOM.  Participants should be familiar with basic HTML, but no programming background is needed.
 
By the end of this program, participants will:
- Learn how JavaScript and DOM work, and put them into practice in a real-life web project
