METRO's 2011 Annual Meeting


This year the METRO Annual Meeting will be held at Fashion Institute of Technology's Katie Murphy Amphitheatre on Monday, October 17, 2011 from 2:00-5:00 PM. The meeting will include a number of activities that you won’t want to miss:
  • Keynote address by Maureen Sullivan, President-Elect of the American Library Association.
  • Get the latest news and updates on the library community in New York City and Westchester from special guests including government leaders and senior professionals from local library and research organizations.
  • Hear about the many important developments at METRO this year and our exciting plans for 2012 and beyond.
  • Network with colleagues at the reception following the program.
Interested attendees will also have a chance to partifipate in one of this year's FIT tours from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
  • Museum at FIT "Sporting Life" Exhibit Tour: Join your professional colleagues on a tour of the Sporting Life exhibit at the Museum of FIT.  Exhibition co-curator, Colleen Hill will lead the tour.  Space is limited so sign up early at
  • Gladys Marcus Library Tour: Find out more about the library and collections of the Gladys Marcus Library at FIT during this tour of the library.  Library staff will reveal some of the unique collections and services offered to FIT faculty, staff and students.  Space is limited so sign up early at

As always, METRO's Annual Meeting is offered at no charge for METRO members.

The Katie Murphy Amphitheatre is located on the corner of 7th Avenue and 27th Street in Manhattan. By subway, the Amphitheatre is accessible by taking the 1 or the N, R to the 28th Street Station. Alternatively, take the C, E, or F to the 23rd Street Station or the 1, 2, 3, A, C, E, D, F, N, or Q to the 34th Street Station.
