In January 2005, METRO launched its Digitization Grant Program, a collaborative effort to support digitization projects involving significant collections held by METRO member libraries in New York City and Westchester County. This initiative is supported in part by funds from the New York State Regional Bibliographic Databases Program.
Since 2005, METRO has awarded over $570,000 in grants to support 51 digital projects. In 2013, METRO will support 9 new projects with approximately $70,000 in grant funding. Additional information about the 2013 Digitization Grant Program can be found at http://metro.org/digitization-grants/.
Information about the next funding cycle for the Digitization Grant Program will be announced in spring 2014.
