Past Activities

March 19, 2009 - DIGITAL LIBRARY CONTENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS MASH-UP

We have them, work with them, bought them, licensed them, created them ourselves and/or are trying to understand them. What skills, ideas, gripes, wants and dreams do we have to share in regard to digital library content management systems?

Do our digital library systems integrate well with other library functions, uses collections and skill sets? Are we happy with our re-programmed, re-worked, cobbled together hybrid and open source systems? How do we feel about the front and back end interfaces; are they working as we envisioned them? What would our perfect content management system look like out of the box? How much reprogramming and customization are we willing and able to accomplish to make our collections digitally available to the wider public?
