by Davis Erin Anderson, Community Engagement Manager, METRO
At METRO’s Annual Conference this morning, we shared the news that our Executive Director Jason Kucsma will be moving on from METRO at the end of this month. More information will be released very soon. In the meantime, the METRO staff would like to take this moment to wish Jason the very best in his future endeavors.
In his six years at METRO, Jason has transformed the scope of projects we undertake in order to help our members provide excellent service to their users. When he first started in 2008 as Emerging Technologies Manager, he reworked our web presence, managed our digitization grants, and established METRO as a publisher with Digitization in the Real World: Lessons Learned from Small and Medium-Sized Digitization Projects.
As our Executive Director, Jason seized opportunities to expand METRO’s services to include the New York State hub of the Digital Public Library of America and the National Digital Stewardship Residency program. As you can see in our 2013-2014 Annual Report, we’ve been fortunate to welcome new staff members with subject expertise to oversee these programs.
Jason’s dedication to our professional development - whether through outside courses and conferences, or even just by giving his best advice - will leave us all as stronger individuals and as a better team. We’ve been very fortunate to work with and for Jason, and we look forward to hearing about his next adventure.
Whether you’re spending the day with us at METROcon15 or not, we hope you will join us to raise a glass to Jason at our post-conference Happy Hour from 5:00 pm till 7:00 pm at The Churchill Tavern.
