“These kinds of essential services are often fall outside of what a person in a career transition can afford. We’re proud to be able to subsidize the costs of these services to make them more accessible for our individual members.”
-Tom Nielsen, Member Services Manager
METRO’s professional resume makeover service is helmed by Ellen Mehling, a consultant on METRO’s Job Bank and former Outreach Librarian at the Queens Library Job Information Center, where she has helped many job candidates move ahead with a winning resume. For only $35, Ellen will complete a section-by-section analysis of your résumé and identify specific strategies to improve content, style, and impact. Participants will receive an email with step-by-step suggestions to develop a résumé that will create a positive impression with potential employers.
Leveraging Ellen’s experience with human resources and the job interview process, METRO is also offering mock interviews for interested myMETRO members. The one-hour mock interviews will be based on the actual or potential interview circumstances and will feature a short interview, feedback from the interviewer, and time for questions from the participant.
