A Note from METRO's Executive Director

The past three years have been a time of tremendous activity at METRO. I could not be more proud of the work our staff is doing for the library and archives communities in the metropolitan New York region. Just yesterday, we had one of our most engaging annual conferences to date, and the future for our member institutions looks brighter than ever.

Today, though, I am writing to let you know my last day as Executive Director will be January 28, 2014. I have accepted a new position that takes me and my family back to my home state of Ohio, where I'll be the Deputy Director for the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library System.

I have been working with METRO's Board of Trustees and staff to ensure as smooth a transition as possible when I leave. Your talented METRO staff is — as most of you know firsthand — deeply committed to providing outstanding programs and services to the METRO community. I am confident that will not change after I leave.

I'm extremely indebted to my Board of Trustees, staff, NY 3Rs colleagues, and the entire New York professional community for the opportunities I've had here. This exciting next challenge in my professional life would not be possible without the invaluable lessons I've learned and colleagues I've met during my time here at METRO.

Thank you all, and I look forward to watching the METRO community flourish from my new home in the Midwest.
