Supporting Libraries in Difficult Times
We're all acutely aware that New York State's myriad fiscal and political challenges are placing tremendous pressure on libraries at precisely the time when free and accessible library services are most needed.
While the problems we're facing won't be solved quickly or easily, it's clear that strong organizing within the library community is going to play a crucial role in protecting library resources in the months to come.
In that spirit, we'd like to encourage our members to consider joining New Yorkers for Better Libraries (NYLIBS-PAC), a political action committee created and supported by New York library advocates who believe that increased state aid for libraries and library systems is essential to improving library and information services for the people of New York.
