Summer Update: METRO’s Strategic Planning Process

METRO’s strategic planning initiative is in an exciting phase, with the recent completion of a formal member survey to augment the extensive qualitative data we’ve gleaned from interviews, focus groups, and our other research to date.

Kane, Parsons & Associates—a public opinion and survey research organization—has conducted the telephone survey of our members and is now analyzing the findings. The consulting firm of Anthony Knerr & Associates (AKA)—which specializes in institutional positioning and strategic transformation of nonprofit organizations—is guiding METRO through the strategic planning process as a whole.

The approximately 155 telephone interviews conducted for the member survey cover the full range of METRO’s diverse membership, including academic, public, special, and school libraries, among others.

We’re delighted by the positive response we’ve received from our members, and look forward to sharing the results of the member survey and the overall strategic plan come fall.
