This full-day workshop for library directors will provide a unique opportunity to join with your peers in exploring how technological and societal changes are affecting libraries, their products and services, and their stakeholders. Participants will:

  • Identify their libraries’ current areas of strength;
  • Assess potential challenges and opportunities that can be leveraged to make the most of a rapidly changing environment; and
  • Explore alternative strategies for the future.

The workshop leader, Deborah Howard, has this to say about the value of this workshop for library directors during the critical juncture libraries face today: “How can libraries remain current in a society in which technology is changing rapidly? How can they remain current when more and more people are turning to online data instead of books? This workshop will help library directors respond proactively to the constant changes they are experiencing.”
