News from the Weill Cornell Medical Library

Weill Cornell Medical College Digital Services Librarian Paul Albert has teamed up with a pair of researchers associated with the California-based nonprofit Autoimmunity Research Foundation to co-author a review on vitamin D that appears in the latest issue of Autoimmunity Reviews.

In other news, the Weill Cornell Medical Library has won a Creative Promotions Award from the Medical Library Association as part of an annual contest in honor of National Medical Librarians Month. The centerpiece of the winning entry was a short animated film called “Counter-Entropy Squad,” created by Loretta Merlo, the Weill Cornell Medical Library’s Manager of Circulation Service.

The film depicts a medical librarian “superhero” attending pediatric rounds, laptop in hand, who is able to call up pertinent medical information in a flash. The animated spot was developed to promote the library’s newly formed Department of Education and Outreach. The second episode of “Counter-Entropy Squad” will premier in April.
