myMETRO Member Named "Emerging Leader"?

We're pleased to announce that myMETRO member Amber Billey has been named one of Library Student Journal's 2009 Emerging Leaders. Honorees are current or recently graduated LIS students whose peers have nominated them because of their outstanding leadership.

Amber Billey received her MLIS from Pratt Institute in 2009, and now works for an open-source software firm that develops collection-management systems for museums and archives. She is one of dozens of myMETRO members—students, professionals, and others—who benefit from myMETRO's networking opportunities and discounts on career development workshops and vendor services. Approximately half of myMETRO's members are students at various library science programs in the New York metropolitan area.

To learn more about METRO's individual membership program, visit the myMETRO page of our website or contact Tom Nielsen, METRO Member Services Manager, at tnielsen@metro.org or 212-228-2320 x 16.
