MoMA's October 3 Wikipedia Edit-a-thon Focuses on Latin American Art and Culture

by Davis Erin Anderson, Community Engagement Manager, METRO

Our good friends at MoMA are joining forces with Wikimedia NYC and the Colección Patricia Phelps de Cisneros to put on Wikipedia Edit-a-thon: Arte y Cultura Latinoamericana (“WikiArte”) on Saturday, October 3 from 11 a.m. through 5 p.m. Join in the fun at The Lewis B. and Dorothy Cullman Education and Research Building at 4 West 54 Street.

This edit-a-thon will focus on creating and updating Wikipedia articles on Latin American art and culture. Prior experience with Wikipedia isn't 100% necessary -- training will be offered at regular intervals: 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Training materials in Spanish will be offered online as well.

More info about this event can be found on MoMA's calendar.

Admission to the edit-a-thon is free, but please RSVP. And please consider sharing this event with anyone you think might be interested.
