METRO posted to its Job Bank two full time positions this morning. Both the Strategic Programs Specialist and the Empire State Digital Network Manager will work with staff here in New York City on new services spearheaded by METRO.
The Strategic Program Specialist will report to our Strategic Initiatives Manager on the implementation of the IMLS-funded National Digital Stewardship Residency program. The successful candidate will also work on new initiatives, collaborative projects, professional training for the local cultural heritage community, and support METRO's Keeping Collections program which provides services to local archives. The ideal candidate will have a background in Library and Information Science or a related degree with experience in cultural heritage organizations, as well as hands-on knowledge of digital stewardship, current technologies in libraries and archives, and grant writing.
The Empire State Digital Network Manager will report to METRO's Executive Director and will be responsible for supporting access to digital collections from New York State libraries, archives, and cultural heritage through the Digital Public Library of America. This position requires a background in Library and Information Science or a related degree, experience with project management, knowledge of current technologies and metadata standards, and the interest and ability to promote participation in DPLA throughout New York State.
