METRO Invites NYS Legislative Aides to Special Event

For the fourth consecutive year, METRO is pleased to sponsor an interactive, hands-on workshop to guide Legislative Aides in gaining free, 24/7 access to a wealth of targeted information from the most comprehensive collection of public policy databases available today (primarily through LexisNexis). These databases include information about all state governments, the federal government, and government publications and statistics.

Participants will also be instructed in full-text database access to national and local newspapers and periodicals. The workshop will include a tour of how Web 2.0 technologies are being used for constituent and legislative purposes.

The training is available free of charge to New York State Legislative Assistants, assembly members, and senators from New York City and Westchester County. Both sessions will take place at METRO (57 East 11th Street, 4th Floor, in Manhattan).

Sign up today for one of the two upcoming sessions in March:

  • Monday, March 8 (1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.)
  • Thursday, March 25 (10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.)

To register, email us at legislator@metro.org and provide your name, legislative office, contact information, and which session you plan to attend. For more information, call METRO's Special Projects Manager Robert Schmidt at (212) 228-2320 x 14.
