As we kick off 2012, METRO is excited to announce the launch of a new member benefit! METRO institutional member employees and individual myMETRO members can now access lynda.com’s online learning resources for a nominal fee through METRO.
Lynda.com hosts over 1,000 video tutorials on subjects ranging from twitter to time management; from Excel to effective presentations. The majority of the tutorials focus on software and home computing for a variety of operating systems with beginner to advanced learning levels. Gmail Essential Training, Building Mobile Apps for Multiple Devices with Flash Professional, Setting Up a Database in Excel, Scanning Techniques for Business and Home, Social Media Marketing with Facebook and Twitter – these courses and more are available in an easy streaming format with printable exercise files. Lynda.com also offers courses on select business skills including Time Management Fundamentals, Effective Meetings, Creating an Effective Resume, and Project Management Fundamentals. For $10, METRO members can request access to one of our lynda.com user licenses for a period of two weeks. During that time, you will have complete access to all lynda courses and receive certificates of completion for any courses that you watch in their entirety. After two weeks, your license will be inactivated and made available to the next member. However, your user profile will be saved, and you may request renewed 2-week access to the tutorial library at a later date.

When your account is ready, you will receive an email with some easy set-up instructions, as well as a link to METRO’s payment page. You are then free to log-in and take advantage of lynda.com’s online tutorial library. Please note that if all user licenses are already in use, your name will be placed on a short waiting list and you will receive a set-up email when the next license is available.
