METRO is pleased to announce that applications are now available for our 2014/2015 Digitization Grant Program.
Based on the strong response from the METRO community to last year's call for proposals, METRO's 2014/2015 digitization grant program will once again provide choices designed to meet the needs of METRO members at various stages of the digitization life cycle. This includes three different funding options for our members. Individual institutions may apply for solo project grants in amounts up to $12,000. We will also continue to offer funding for collaborative digitization projects involving one or more METRO members, in amounts of up to $25,000. Finally, we also offer digital conversion "microgrants," in amounts up to $5,000, to digitize materials through Internet Archive's scanning services.
METRO will be distributing a total of approximately $75,000 in grant funds through the New York State Regional Bibliographic Databases Program (RBDB).
Details regarding the three funding opportunities, including information, guidelines and applications are available now on the METRO website:
All applications are due on July 31, 2014, and awards will be announced by October 1st.
There will be an optional information session (webinar) on Wednesday April 2nd. The session is free but registration is required.
