Leo Baeck Institute Launches DigiBaeck

METRO is pleased to report that the Leo Baeck Institute has launched DigiBaeck, its digital archive of German-Jewish history.

The DigiBaeck is your gateway to LBI's digital collections, a growing treasury of artifacts that document the rich heritage of German-speaking Jewry in the modern era. DigiBaeck provides instant access to materials ranging from rare 16th century renaissance books to memoirs that document the experience of German-Jewish émigrés across the world in the 20th century.

DigiBaeck represents a significant subset of LBI collections, including Archival Materials, Memoirs and Manuscripts, Art and Objects, Books and Periodicals, Photographs, and Audio Recordings.

The launch of the DigiBaeck was celebrated with an event held at the Center for Jewish History on October 16th featuring Brewster Kahle, Nicholas Felton and Claudia Dreifus.
