Library leaders face many challenges, some of which involve working with a diverse set of individuals. Using the frameworks of emotional intelligence and resonant leadership, this workshop will explore the challenges typically faced by those who provide formal and/or informal leadership in the library setting, and suggest ways to address these challenges.
The workshop will cover key competencies for emotional intelligence and resonant leadership, offering strategies for assessing and increasing one’s skills in both areas.
Led by organizational development consultant Maureen Sullivan, this workshop is geared for leaders—both formal and informal—at any stage of their careers. Librarians, archivists, information professionals, support staff, and myMETRO members with or without managerial responsibility who wish to acquire or improve their leadership skills are invited to attend.
