As we mentioned on October 8, we're joining up with a great group of conveners* to put on Openlab Workshop just outside of Washington D.C. This two-day session features an unconference with ignite talks on Tuesday, December 1 and a more traditional invite-only discussion on Wednesday, December 2.
In the weeks since we first announced our participation, an amazing group of speakers have signed up to share their ideas on how we might move the GLAM fields forward. Ranging from community digitization initiatives to interoperability to fair (digital) labor practices, these talks cover a wide selection of solutions to the issues facing us today.
* The Openlab Workshop is funded by the National Endowment for the HumanitiesOffice of Digital Humanities and Division of Public Programs in a cooperative agreement with The Council on Library and Information Resources. Workshop organizers and co-conveners are the American Alliance of Museums Center for the Future of Museums, The American Library Association Center for the Future of Libraries, The Digital Public Library of America, the Digital Library Federation and Metropolitan New York Library Council.
