We're pleased to announce that Jenna Freedman, Coordinator of Reference Services and Zine Librarian at Barnard College Library, was recently named the winner of the American Library Association's Elizabeth Futas Catalyst for Change Award. The award was presented in June during the ALA Annual Conference in Washington, D.C.

The award recognizes a librarian who "invests time and talent to make positive changes in the profession of librarianship by taking risks to further the cause, helping new librarians grow and achieve, working for change within the ALA or other library organizations, and inspiring colleagues to excel or make the impossible possible."

Jenna has been a good friend of METRO's and we're delighted to see her work as a social justice activist and one of the founders of Radical Reference recognized by the ALA.
