Documentary Heritage Program Grants Available

The New York State Archives has recently released the grant application guidelines and forms for the 2013-2014 grants available to individual institutions through the Documentary Heritage Program.

These grants are intended “to provide financial support and archival guidance to not-for-profit organizations including archives, libraries, historical societies, museums, and other organizations that hold, collect, and make available historical records.”

More information can be found on the program’s website and the full PDF of guidelines and forms is also available online.

Applications are due Friday, March 1, 2013 for 12-month projects starting July1, 2013.

A number of NYC institutions were awarded DHP funding in 2012 (former grant recipients can be seen online). METRO encourages eligible institutions to apply for funding and can offer some guidance and advice to those considering an application.

METRO’s Keeping Collections project is primarily funded through the DHP and offers program and organizes services for any local organization collecting and preserving historical records.
