Empowering Librarians, Empowering Students: the Inaugural ACRL LF-PEI Conference
Call to Conference

The American Library Association, Association of College and Research Libraries, Librarians in For-Profit Educational Institutions (LF-PEI) Interest Group is pleased to present our inaugural virtual conference for librarians and leaders of libraries in proprietary educational institutions. Our theme for this first conference is "Empowering Librarians, Empowering Students", and we look forward to exploring a wide range of topics through concurrent sessions, discussion panels, vendor presentations, and rich dialogue. This virtual conference will be hosted in Adobe Connect and registration is FREE for librarians and leaders of libraries in proprietary educational institutions. Additional information including a link to register and the conference agenda will be communicated in early fall.

Call for Proposals

The ALA LF-PEI welcomes proposals from all librarians and leaders of libraries for this conference. All proposals will be given generous consideration. Applicants are encouraged to partner with others within or outside of their institutions on session proposals. Although the following topics are suggested, any topic within the theme Empowering Librarians, Empowering Students is welcome:

Solo Librarianship ~ Supporting Adjunct Faculty ~ Consortium Relationships ~ Administering Electronic Resources ~ Student Services/Academic Advising in the Library ~ Managing Student Employees ~ Advocating for your Library ~ Information Literacy

All sessions will be held in Adobe Connect. Presenters will receive opportunities to train on Adobe prior to the conference. All presenters will need a wired, high-speed Internet connect and either a telephone or USB headset for the conference.
