METRO members often ask us about additional skills training to supplement their library science expertise, so we’ve put together a series of workshops on traditional business skills for librarians. The first two workshops in the series will take place in October and November this fall where you’ll learn the tricks and techniques of branding and marketing.
In October, Amanda McCormick will guide us through the construction of a successful brand based on institutional values and the needs of your target audience. Her workshop is “Building Brands That Engage”
The author of “The Accidental Library Marketer”, Kathy Dempsey, will join us in November to discuss “true marketing” and how it can help you refine your message to multiple library constituencies. “What Accidental Library Marketers Need to Know” is scheduled for Monday, November 5, 2012.
