After a Long Career of Service to Libraries, John Monahan Retires

After over 25 years of diligent service to New York libraries, John Monahan has retired as Director of the Putnam Northern Westchester BOCES School Library System.
In addition to serving on METRO’s Board of Trustees for eight years (1996-2004), John has been professionally engaged at both the regional and national level. He has been active in the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development and American Library Association. John's professional service also included work with the New York Library Association, Westchester Library Association, School Library System Directors Association and many other respected organizations representing libraries in the state of New York.  In 2008,  the New York State Commissioner of Education appointed John to the New York State Regents Advisory Council on Libraries.
John’s knowledge and insight will be deeply missed in our community, and we at METRO wish him well in his future endeavors!
