A Note from METRO's Board of Trustees President

After three years as Executive Director of METRO, Jason Kucsma is leaving us to return home to Ohio. The Board appreciates the innovative and substantial work that has been the result of Jason's leadership. We also appreciate the selection of the staff of METRO who will continue to carry on their great work.

Now the replacement process begins. The Board will be reaching out to potential candidates in a variety of ways. A position description will go up on metro.org in the next few days. We especially encourage your recommendations, and we would also appreciate your help letting your colleagues around the country know about the opening.

Jason set a high bar, so we hope to find someone with vision and leadership who can carry on the work already set in motion. We also expect the new director to continue to innovate and continue to make METRO relevant and valuable to the library community and the people of the metropolitan area.

Please feel free to reach out to me or other board members, if you have any questions.

And, of course, as there is progress to report, we will keep you informed.

Thank you,
Norm Jacknis
METRO Board President
