One of the four projects chosen for METRO's 2010/2011 Collaborative Digitization Grants program received some preliminary press in the Queens Courier this week. The Queens Memory Project aims to connect the past to the present by combining the digitization of primary sources from collections at Queens Public Library Archives and Queens College with oral histories from residents of the Waldheim neighborhood. According to Project Manager Natalie Milbrodt, "I think there are lots of ways for people to forge deeper relationships with their communities. The Queens Memory Project will hopefully become one way that many of us in Queens will learn more about the place we call home.”
